Garden Theater Block
What is it?
Centrally located in the burgeoning historic neighborhoods of Pittsburgh’s Northside, the Garden Theater Block presents the most distinctive and prominent buildings for a dramatic and vibrant urban development.
Strong complementary development in the immediate vicinity is underway or completed, including construction and sale of the Federal Hill Townhomes, the new Allegheny Branch of the Carnegie Library and a new Crazy Mocha coffee shop.
The block fronts on the historic Allegheny Commons Park and is only a short walk from the North Shore attractions and office buildings. Downtown Pittsburgh is easily accessible by foot or car, and the region’s highway network converges only blocks away on the North Shore.
Who are we?
Northside Tomorrow LLC, in cooperation with the Urban Redevelopment Authority and the City of Pittsburgh, Luke Ravenstahl, Mayor, received developer proposals for the Garden Theater Block. The formal Request For Proposals and a summary of the responses are posted on this website. On October 21, 2010 the Urban Redevelopment Authority of Pittsburgh selected the development team led by Wayne Zukin to advance the revitalization of this block.
